What is Kashaya?

Kashaya is an ancient Ayurvedic drink composed of specific health promoting spices, seeds and herbs. Recipes for Kashaya are unique to homes in South India, and are passed down through family generations. Although turmeric is one of the ingredient included in Kashaya, it differs greatly from turmeric or golden latte in flavour, aroma and effectiveness on health and well-being.

How does Kashaya compare with turmeric latte?

Kashaya, just like turmeric lattes, originate from India. Traditional turmeric lattes are prepared by boiling ground turmeric root in milk and sugar for its health benefits. Kashaya contains turmeric as well as a combination of 13 other herbs, seeds and spices carefully selected as per Ayurvedic practices.Our Kashaya blend utilises 14 core Ayurvedic herbs, seeds and spices that have been specifically selected to work together to promote the bioavailability of their vital nutrients and health-promoting compounds.

How often can I drink Kashaya?

We recommend drinking Kashaya at least twice a day to get the best results How much Kashaya should I use? As our Kashaya is quite concentrated we recommend using half a teaspoon to one teaspoon per cup depending on how strong you like it

Does it contain caffeine?

No, Ayur Co Kashaya does not contain any caffeine

Does it contain any sweetener?

No, we recommend using honey or coconut blossom sugar to sweeten your cup of Kashaya

Can children drink it?

Definitely! Traditionally in South India, the grandmother would brew a hot cup of strong Kashaya for kids when they were down with a cold or flu

Is it Vegan?

How much water/milk ratio should I use for a Kahsaya Late?

We recommend using just a splash of water and a cup full of milk if you like your latte creamy. Alternatively a good ratio is quarter cup of water and three quarters milk

How long should I brew it for?

We recommend brewing it for at least 2 minutes on the stove to get the best effect
